If you invested in R10 000 in Richemont in 1991, how much money would you have now?

Richemont was established in 1988 and its shares were listed during the same year. However, Richemont’s official price chart lists its share prices from July 31, 1991, for 14.60 CHF, or 231.70 ZAR (at the current exchange rate between ZAR/CHF).

If you had invested R10,000 when the share price was R231.70, you could have purchased 43 CFR shares. During the past 30 years, Richemont shares have seen significant growth of more than 700% and if you held your investment for the past three decades, your investment would have grown from R9,963.10 to over R80,600.

This change of more than 700% or R70,637 would have given you a generous return on your initial investment. CFR is one of the largest, most successful businesses in the world and despite the challenges that the Covid-19 pandemic caused for many industries and companies, Richemont showed solid performance over the past year.
